I’m having a bit of trouble with the widget but wanted to announce that Sara won the book! Congrats, Sara!
I was pleased to agree to review the book Seasons, by Elizabeth Byler Younts, mainly because this was a young (and married) mother who somehow managed to run her household (moving 5 times in 7 years), birth another baby, and write an entire book! All of those reasons for reading fizzled though because the true story of her Amish grandmother’s childhood through the Great Depression was enough to keep me totally engrossed. I am really pleased to offer you this interview with Elizabeth about her lovely book.

Thank you for this book review! It reminded me so much of my own Mennonite grandmother and our chats about her life and traditions, and love for Jesus. She was a prayer warrior. She and Gramps prayed for each one one of her sons, their wives, and her grandchildren and then great-grandchildren by name, as modeled by her own mother, who lived to 97 years. I feel so blessed to be in the middle of a 200 year plan! And inspired to continue to run the race.

Glad to find your blog! I met Elizabeth in TX in our Christian Writing Group and I can't wait to read her book. I remember her talking about needing to write this for her Grandma and her family. I'm so motivated by her! I have a 91 year old grandma that I would likewise to capture more stories about and to share with our family. I'm seriously hoping to make the time to tackle this heartwarming project. 🙂
