Here is the list of what I keep in the van (see the photo above):
* bandages
* arnica for bumps and bruises, apis for bee stings, and belladonna for sudden fevers
* Rescue Remedy for calming
* a packet of cayenne pepper for bleeding control. No, really. A little cayenne on the tongue helps to stop bleeding. Worked wonders on my daughter’s bloody nose not too long ago, in fact.
* a bottle of shelf-stable probiotics for upset tummies. That is MARVELOUS to have on hand when a child gets a stomacheache while out and about.
* a jar of herbal salve
* hand sanitizer
In my home kit, this is what I keep on hand as a BASIC:
* rubbing alcohol for disinfecting a wound after cleaning it
* all sorts of bandages and adehesive dressing
* tweezers for splinters and, because we live in the woods, a tick-remover kit
* arnica gel for bumps and bruises
In addition to my kit, I have these things in my home to treat my family as needed:
* several ice packs in the freezer and the Boo Boo Bunny of course
* aloe vera juice (in a spray bottle) in the fridge
* a variety of homeopathic remedies for various ailments
* a variety of essential oils
* a variety of homemade tinctures for various ailments
* a variety of homemade salves for insect bites, rashes, cuts, etc.
* Rescue Remedy for a quick, calming response
* a variety of homemade and store-bought teas
* a variety of dried herbs to use as needed
* a homemade 4 Thieves disinfectant spray; here is an easy way to make some
* activated charcoal for poison control
* electrolyte replacement drinks for fevers or diarrhea
