My post on homemade face cream continues to be a favorite among my readers. Ironically, I very rarely make that face cream. Mostly, because I’m lazy 🙂
That’s not to say that I buy fancy facial products though. I just can’t spend that much for it, nor do I want all of the *interesting* ingredients soaking into my skin. My daily skin care is pretty simple.
Morning, Â I wash with a mild facial soap. I don’t have a favorite brand but tend to buy whatever’s on sale at the natural food store and has ingredients that I recognize. I do without the fragrance (or “parfum” as it’s sometimes called). Sometimes I use my own homemade goat milk soap.
For toner, I use witch hazel and a cotton ball. Sometimes when I’m really tired, I’ll just clean my face with that in the evening and not even use soap. It takes off dirt pretty well, and I rarely wear makeup.
Two or three times a week, I’ll use a little vitamin C. It’s the most expensive thing I buy, and it lasts a real long time.
For daily moisturizer, I use a little bit of almond oil. This bottle lasts a long time, too. My face feels well balanced.
That’s it. Easy. I like using masks and facial creams when I make them, but it’s not really a daily or weekly necessity. I might give myself a facial a few times a year.
Maybe I’d have less wrinkles or whatnot if I used a bunch of other stuff. But I think my face looks pretty healthy so I don’t worry about it too much. Besides, smile lines are good to have, right?
