Putting Scripture on the walls of our home helps us to stay focused on the Word and on Him who has graciously given it to us. Sometimes it’s pretty convicting, especially if I’m having a very selfish moment when the duties I am about seem mired in petty irritations. Nevertheless, walls are a wonderful way to remind us all of what we are about, and what we are to BE about. Here are some ways we have done this:
The easiest and quickest way is to print it out on paper. We put this above a map with pushpins showing us all the places from where fellow believers joined us to support the care of our Ruby after her birth. Samaritan’s Ministries is a wonderful organization. I sure *hope* our president will allow us to “keep what we’re happy with” 😉
This is a bit more permanent. I used a white paint pen onto the lip of my countertop, in front of my kitchen sink, and free-handed Deuteronomy 12:7 And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee. I really (really) need the reminder that I am commanded to REJOICE, and what better place than where I am most of the time?
