Small crops, small handwork projects, little things I find beautiful…
We did not get a lot of squash and pumpkins from the garden this year but what we did get looks beautifully autumnal.
In my first drawing class, the instructor said I’d be surprised at how well I’d be drawing in seven weeks. I wryly responded while trying to draw a twisty twig with a pirate-squint-eye, “Well then, I can’t wait to be surprised!” Today I played with colored pencils.
I did like my little fountain pen drawing of my childhood Paddington Bear. I keep him on my artist/crafting old farmhouse table. He reminds me to be nice to the 9 year old self that’s still in the 41 year old body.
I have no idea what to do with this little thing I handstitched. It just hangs on my corkboard waiting for inspiration to do or be something other than corkboard decoration. Sometimes my creations have no “point” other than to be something I’m creating.
Here’s a little sneak peek at what I’m making for a couple of baby showers coming up. It’s so stinkin’ adorable I think I’m going to have to make one for our baby coming in April.
May you find beauty in the little things in your life, too.
